There’s nothing quite like Melbourne in the wintertime. In a city renowned for its vibrant arts and cultural events, our winters never fail to bring out the best in indoor entertainment – from live music and theatre to food and mulled wine.
That’s why we’re so excited to once again be supporting Art Exhibitions Australia (AEA) as their digital partner for the National Gallery of Victoria’s Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition, which this year is showcasing an expansive collection of works from the renowned French artist Edgar Degas. The exhibition, which opens on 24 June, is titled Degas: A New Vision.
In late 2014, Sensis established a two-year agreement with AEA, a government organisation established in 1980 for the purpose of arranging major art exhibitions and significant cultural events across Australia. Our agreement involves providing digital expertise to promote three major exhibitions and to help raise the profile of AEA.
As AEA’s digital partner, we’ll be providing promotion across social media and digital display ads, with dedicated management of the Art Exhibitions Australia social media accounts to both build their presence online and attract audiences to the Degas exhibition.
Degas is one of the most celebrated artists associated with French Impressionism. During a career spanning over fifty years, he consistently built upon his creativity by embracing a multitude of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
Degas’ work has had an immense impact on modern and contemporary art, and his repertoire explores numerous motifs from work and industry to ballet and the theatre, racecourses and boudoirs. This exhibition brings together more than 200 works by Degas from dozens of collections worldwide.
